Bangkok, 1 October 2025 — The ASCOPE Council Meeting (ACM) and CEO Strategic Dialogue 2025 was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted by PTT and organized in collaboration with the ASCOPE Secretariat (ASIC Office).
The meeting was officially opened by Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, President & CEO of PTT (ASCOPE Council Member for Thailand), and chaired by Mr. Henricus Herwin, ASCOPE Secretary-in-Charge for 2024–2029.
Council Members and representatives from across the ASEAN region gathered alongside observers and partners, including the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), ASEAN Secretariat, and TimorGAP, to discuss regional priorities and collaborative strategies in the evolving energy landscape.
In line with ASCOPE’s expanded scope to encompass the broader energy sector, five key thematic streams—Upstream Investment, Gas/LNG, Clean Energy, CCS/CCUS, and Methane Management—were discussed, followed by high-level exchanges with Council Members.
Key highlights and outcomes include:
- Integrated Workstream Approach to address system-level energy security challenges through the integration of gas, CCS, and clean energy initiatives.
- CCUS Regional Collaboration, emphasizing multilateral CO₂ transport frameworks, shipping corridors, and financing mechanisms.
- Institutionalizing the Methane Roundtable as an annual platform and launching MLP 3.0 to advance methane measurement and reduction technologies.
The meeting reaffirmed ASCOPE’s strong commitment to regional collaboration, energy transition, and a sustainable energy future for ASEAN.
