The ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE) marked a historic milestone with the official launch of the ASCOPE Charter during the 50th ASCOPE Council Meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Charter represents ASCOPE’s strengthened commitment to fostering regional collaboration and sustainable energy development among ASEAN Member States. It establishes a more robust institutional framework, ensuring enhanced governance, transparency, and strategic alignment with the region’s evolving energy landscape.

This landmark document formalizes ASCOPE’s vision, mission, and structure — reinforcing the organization’s role as a key platform for cooperation in oil, gas, and clean energy within ASEAN.

The launching ceremony was attended by the Heads of National Oil Companies and energy authorities from all ASCOPE Member Countries, who expressed their shared enthusiasm for this new chapter in regional energy cooperation.

With this Charter in place, ASCOPE is ready to move forward as a stronger, more unified, and future-ready organization — driving collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in the ASEAN energy community.
