As an Energy Policy Specialist at ASCOPE, you will play a key role in developing and analyzing regional energy policies, coordinating with ASEAN member states, and facilitating the implementation of harmonized energy frameworks across the region. You will work closely with national energy authorities, research institutions, and international partners to advance ASEANs energy security and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze energy policy developments across ASEAN member states and identify opportunities for regional harmonization
- Develop policy recommendations and position papers on regional energy issues for consideration by ASCOPE leadership
- Coordinate with national energy authorities to facilitate implementation of ASEAN energy agreements and action plans
- Organize and facilitate regional workshops and consultations on energy policy matters
- Monitor and report on implementation progress of ASEAN energy cooperation initiatives
- Provide technical input to ASEAN energy ministers meetings and senior officials meetings
- Collaborate with research institutions on policy-relevant studies and analysis
Qualifications & Requirements
- Masters degree in Energy Policy, Economics, International Relations, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in energy policy analysis, preferably in a regional or international context
- Deep understanding of ASEAN energy landscape, institutions, and policy frameworks
- Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Fluency in English (working language of ASCOPE); proficiency in an ASEAN language is an advantage
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
